Welcome to WPPA’s 2024 Fall Ball season.  We are extremely excited to get games going this coming weekend. We once again have a tremendous number of families from Welles, and other park programs that are joining us for our Fall Ball season, thank you!

For those that do not know, the WPPA is 100% a volunteer organization.  This includes our board, our commissioners, and all our coaches.  They are all giving up their time to make this league successful.  Please keep this in mind if there are times when not everything goes according to plan and be sure to thank your coach for volunteering.

A few other notes as we kick off the season:

  • Lost and Found. In the event you lose something (or find something) during the season, please follow our Lost and Found procedures outlined on the website.  While we play at various parks, including Welles, we don’t have any storage location for lost items so we rely on our community to try and get things returned to the rightful owner.
  • Communication. TeamSnap is used for communication from the coaches about team specific activities.  In addition, for league wide communication on notices such as weather delays/cancellations, we will send out email blasts and post on our website and social media pages as quickly as we can.  Note that we don’t have a lot of wiggle room in our schedule, so we are going to do all we can to get in games.  And unlike in the Spring, if a game gets rained out, we may not be able to make it up.
  • Practices: There are no official practices during fall ball.
  • Rookie Skills Clinic.  Will begin in September, and if you signed up, you should receive an email later this month providing you with additional details.
  • Portapotties. There will be NO portapotties provided at the parks this fall.  Please plan accordingly.  And if you use one of the local establishments’ restrooms, please be sure to support them.

Finally, and most important, a reminder of WPPA’s parent code of conduct.  Fall ball is all about continuing to play games with friends and teammates, having some fun, as your player’s skills continue to grow.  You won’t win every game, and you almost certainly will get a call you disagree with – but just make sure as a parent/spectator you are positively encouraging your player and the teams.

Let’s have some fun and PLAY BALL!
